At the beginning Brinley and I were gone. My sister in law flew us to Utah to tend her four boys for 2 weeks, while she and her husband went to China. I had 5 kids under the age of 8 all by myself. The older kids had school and kind of just did their own thing so they weren't too bad, but the two who wore me out were Brinley, 18months and Luke who had just turned 1. It was like having twins! Those two were partners in crime! What one didn't think of the other did. I couldn't BELIEVE the messes they would make. They always wanted what the other had or wanted to be doing what the other was doing. That was especially hard when it came time to eat. I got very good at holding one baby on my lap while the other was in the high chair and taking turns feeding them one handed. It was a good thing my Mom and Dad lived close by or I think I would have had a mental break down. I have a whole new respect for people who have twins. I just HOPE that I'm NEVER one of them.
One night while we were in Utah I got to hang out with my family. It was my cousin Mythanne's birthday so we all went out to dinner! It was so fun and Brinley LOVES them.

Brinley also got to carve her first Pumpkin with Grandpa.

And make pumpkin sugar cookies with Grandma.
We got back home and for the first couple days things were normal and good. Greg had to study quite a bit, but nothing we weren't used too. Brinley one morning woke up with a small fever one morning but still acted pretty much the same. I didn't worry so much about it until that night when she kept screaming and wouldn't stop!!! The only way she would sleep was if Greg was holding her. I started feeling sick that night too. By the next morning I felt like I was going to die and Brinley wasn't doing to well either. Greg was kind enough to come home from school at 12 and take care of us, but he still had a lot of tests that he needed to study for. That night was the same as before with Brinley. She would only sleep on Greg and so he didn't get much sleep at all. The next morning my fever was gone, I still didn't feel good, but Brinley's wasn't so I had to take her to the Dr. Meanwhile my awesome father in law was on an airplane to come and save us!!! I LOVE that he flies for free.
It turned out that Brinley had her first ear infection and they put her on an antibiotic. That night Greg's Dad got in to help us out for the next few days. He was so wonderful!! He cleaned, made dinners, did laundry and played with Brinley non stop all day.
Brinley dramatically improved, but I still couldn't get better. I finally went to the Dr. and it turned out I had another sinus infection. That is the third time this year!!! They put me on medicine and after a few days I was feeling much better.
Mike left and Greg finished his midterms, but the next day Brinley woke up with a rash ALL over her body from head to toe. She didn't have a fever and wasn't acting sick but I called her Dr. and it turns out she had an allergic reaction the the amoxicilin they gave her. Pour thing!! At least she wasn't bothered by the rash at all. She just kept lifting up her shirt and looking at her tummy and saying "rash" "rash."

You can kind of see what she looked like in this picture, but she wouldn't hold still.
