I am a Mother

When I was first pregnant with Brinley I remember going to my Mom's house and seeing a book on her shelf entitled "I am a Mother." I picked it up and to my excitement saw that Jane Clayson, now Jane Clayson Johnson wrote it. Those who know me well know that I have a crazy love and admiration for news anchors. Maybe because I always wanted to be one since I was 11. Anyway, Jane Clayson was one that I always loved watching and have admired for as long as I can remember. I remember a few years back hearing that she left the news industry to become a Mother. I've always wondered what happened to her since. Well now I could find out!

Even though I was so excited to read her book, I decided to wait until I was "really a mother" to read it. Well, now almost a year after seeing the book I finally read it. I picked it up on Friday afternoon and finished it that evening. I LOVED it. I recommend reading it if you are a Mom or just plan to be one day. It made me look at being a Mother and the "role" of a Mother in a whole new way. I've enjoyed every season of my life and have been so blessed to experience amazing things. Though sometimes I feel that this season of my life and what I do everyday is nothing important or significant, it is to the Lord and it is to my baby. I'm not "just" a mom, I am a Mother.

One of our favorite trips of all time

Over Labor Day weekend Greg, Brinley and I along with some of our friends went to Boston. We had a wonderful time! Not many babies can say that they have been to Boston twice before they're six months old. We even added in a little side trip to Maine to look at some lighthouses. The weather was perfect and the company was too!

The first day we did the whole Freedom trail. Here are some of the things we saw.

Paul Revere "The British are coming"

Old North Church

Brinley and I in what the Sailors would have slept in while on their ships.

Bunker Hill. Some of our group decided that it would be "fun" to climb all the stairs to the top. I was not one of them.

The highlight of the trip for Greg. He went to another Red Sox game (sorry Lis)

On Sunday we went on a drive to Maine to look at lighthouses. This one is in York Maine. This picture makes me laugh because Brinley's arms are imitating my hair.

This one was my favorite! It's in Portland Maine.

Here was out attempt to get a "cute group photo" but the Yeah Who that took the picture didn't give us a 1..2..3.

This was my favorite pic of Brinley. Thanks Bryce!

Here was the best group picture of us. This guy gave us a 1..2..3 as you can see except Brinley doesn't know what that means yet. Anyway if you are ever in a city that offers a "duck" tour I highly recommend it. It was a great way to see the whole city in one day.

Brinley loved it too!

6 Months Old!!

I can't believe that 6 months ago this was my little Brinley. Look at her now! Everyone always told me that the time flys by but I never realized how fast it really does. We love her so much and can't imagine life without her. Happy 6 months Brinley Boo!!
