I have been tagged by my good friend Lis. I'm suppose to list 6 interesting things about myself or habits I may have. I will do a mixture of both:
1. I'm very rarely tempted to eat junk food when it's in my own house, however when I'm at other people's houses and they offer me junk food I could eat it forever. It is the weirdest thing. Growing up my Mom always had tons of treats at our house, but I hardly ever ate it. On Halloween I would put all my candy in a big bowl, eat one or two pieces that night, put it under my bed and forget about it. I would have Halloween candy for 8 months out of the year. Normally I would just use it for bribery for my brother to do stuff for me.
2. I swear I'm psychic. I've thought this forever about myself. This one time I randomly started thinking of this young women leader I had years and years ago. I just wondered what she was up to and if she had any kids. I kid you not the next week I saw her and her husband with their 2 kids at the training table. I hadn't seen her or thought of her in years. Similar things happen like this all the time to me. I will predict who is on the phone, what # I'm going to roll on a dice and all sorts of random things. It's so crazy!
3. I'm way to sentimental. I keep everything! I have in a box at my house almost every letter that has ever been written to me. I just know already that I will be one of those Mom's who keep every piece of art work their children ever do and all their reports from school and so on. I'm going to need many boxes!
4. I love playing really good practical jokes on people. My friend Heather and I when we were growing up would do them to our friend Kajsa. We would get her so good!! I think we felt so satisfied doing it to her because she was so smart and it was fun to see how far we could take it. One time when we were like 15, we came up with this great story and told her that I was moving to Washington. At first she didn't believe us but after about 2 minutes of convincing she just started hysterically crying and screaming at me " you can't move, you can't move" she was so emotional and dramatic that it made me start crying and Heather too. We were all crying so hard that it took me about 5 minutes before I could talk to be able to say that we were just joking! Honestly if you ever want to know how someone really feels about you, just tell them you're moving! Anyway I have pulled many of these in my lifetime! So fun
5. I will never bite my nails!! I use to be a nail biter before I got braces, but after I got them off I just can never bite them again!
6. I'm still a child at heart when it comes to Christmas. I still wake up at 4 in the morning to open presents. This past Christmas I woke up at 3:45 in the morning and just couldn't stand it any longer. I woke Greg up and said "Greg, Santa came to our house." I made him get up and we opened gifts then went back to bed.

Happy Halloween (in about 2 years)
Greg and I went Christmas shopping a few weeks ago at the mall. While we were there I was waiting for Greg to come out of a store so I decided to go into the Disney store and look around. I never buy anything because everything is so expensive, but when I walked in the lady told me that all Halloween costumes were on sale for $4.99! The only thing that's usually $4.99 at the Disney store are their pencils! Anyway I went over to look and fell in LOVE with this Nemo costume. Granted it's for an 18 month old, but that's how old our baby will be in 2 Halloweens from now, so I got it and decided to save it for her.
When we got home we were so excited about it that we went upstairs to our neighbors who have an 18 month old baby and tried it on her. I hope that our baby looks as cute in it as little Macey does!!!

Flying
I've discovered that the older I get the more scared I become. Things that use to not scare me as much when I was younger are starting to terrify me now. For example, when I was 13, and 18 I hiked Angels Landing in Zions, which for those of you who have never done this hike it is very very high!!!! There is a part of the hike where you have to hold on to chains and there are drop dead cliffs to the right and left of you. Anyway I honestly don't remember feeling scared while doing this hike during those 2 times. However, about a year and a half ago I did it again and I thought I was going to have a panic attack because I was so scared!! I vowed never to do it again nor to ever let any of my children do it!!!
The same thing goes for flying. It use to not bother me but now it does. Whenever the plane hits turbulence I always jump and grab hold of things or people. Well usually I know the person I'm sitting by, but this time I had to fly all by myself and I panic and grabbed the guys seat who was it front of me and probably scared him to death.
So anyway on with the story. I get to the SLC airport plenty early and had checked in my bags and was heading up to the security gate. I said goodbye to Greg and as you know from the last post I had been crying and upset all day. I had no make up on and really hadn't even done my hair. To make me feel worse, when I handed my licence over to the security guy so he could verify who I was, he held it forever!! He kept looking at the picture and then looking at me and then looking at the picture and then looking at me. Finally he gives it back to me and says in a condescending way "I guess that's you in the picture, you've kind of changed." So mean!!!
I had a flight that went from SLC to Atlanta and then from Atlanta to Philly. My layover was only 55 min so I knew I would have to hurry, but figured since I was flying delta both times, the gates would be pretty close to each other. Well I was wrong! Our flight leaving SLC was about a half hour late so we landed in Atlanta about 9 and my flight left at 9:30. So I get off the plane and see that my ticket says we are leaving from gate A4. Well we had come in unexpectedly to B6. I didn't know this but the Atlanta airport is massive!!! There are 39 gates per letter, so I knew I had to hurry as fast as I could! I was walking as fast as my little legs would carry my pregnant tummy and two carry on bags. I was zig zaging all the way through the airport and by the time I got to A4 it was 9:20! It took me 20 minutes, that is how big this airport is!! Well I get to the gate and there is hardly anyone there so I'm thinking that they are already on the plane. I went up to the desk and handed the lady my boarding pass and she grabs it and marks it A29 and hands it back to me. She said "I'm sorry but they changed the gate." I was so mad!!! I had 10 minutes to get to the gate, and I was about a 10 minute walk away. I was also starving because I had not eaten anything since 12:00, but the little snacks they give you on the plane. So I continued walking/running as fast I could and made it to gate A29 right at 9:30, only to find out that my flight had been delayed and they hadn't even started boarding. We didn't end up leaving until about 10:15. By the time we got to Philly there were two other flights of passengers waiting at baggage claim to pick up there luggage. For some dumb reason they only had 1 pick up working. It was jammed packed with people waiting. I asked one lady how long she had been waiting for her bags and she said an hour and a half!!! I was so mad. Luckily I only ended up waiting for mine for about 45 minutes, but at 1:15 in the morning it seemed like forever!!
NO more flying for me for awhile.

Saying Goodbye
I must say that the #1 thing I hate about living away from family is saying goodbye everytime you visit them or they visit you. It really takes a toll on ones heart! I wish I could say that it gets easier with time, but it doesn't. I must say though I like being on the leaving end a little better than the being left end. For some reason it is depressing seeing your spare bedroom once filled with someone you love ( and all their stuff) and then all the sudden looking at it again and it being empty. Whenever anyone leaves I always go sit in the room for a while, it is like you can still feel them there with you. Crazy I know.
Anyway I had say goodbye to all our family again yesterday and it was not fun! What made it even harder was that Greg is not coming home until Wednesday so I had to say goodbye to him too. Cheesy I know because I'll see him in a few days but he is the one who usually pulls me out of my "sad" phase when I have to leave people.
I'm back at work today and surprisingly I'm feeling very good. I'm sure by tomorrow I will be over my "little phase" and move on, but for now I will just have to wait out my homesickness.
Tomorrow or so I will have to write about my terrible flight experience! Let's just say "Delta" is not on my good list right now!

Good times with Aunt Geri
We had a great weekend when Greg's aunt Geri came to visit us! I love having visitors come because it feels like I get to go on vacation too. We were non stop busy the whole time! We went to the Hershey factory, Amish country, downtown philly, and Greg and Geri went to DC while I had to go to work. Our camera wasn't working the whole time but here are some of the pictures that turned out.
Here we are at Chubbys. Geri got to try her first philly cheese steak.

And now my Internet is being stupid and won't let me download anymore pictures. So I guess I'm done.

It's a GIRL!!!!
Hello! We just got back from the Dr. office and we found out that we're having a little girl! I'm so excited! I always knew that it would be a girl deep down, so when the lady confirmed it I wasn't very surprised. Anyway so now after work I'm going to go and do what any mom that just found out she is having a girl would do, I'm going to go and buy something pink!!!

Baby update
I went to the Dr. yesterday and guess what??? I get to find out what we're having next Friday at 3:00!!!! I'm so excited! I didn't think that they would be doing an ultrasound for at least another month. I'll be 18 1/2 weeks by then so hopefully they'll be able to tell. Pray that the baby is in a good position. Any guesses on what it will be??
Yesterday when they went to listen for the heartbeat and measure the baby, he or she kept moving away from the little wand thing. We could hear the heartbeat just fine but it wouldn't hold still long enough to be measured. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. The Dr. already says we have a trickster on our hands. We'll just have to see.
Oh and by the way, I'm sad to say that Greg and I are not going to be able to come home for Christmas this year. So sad!!! But the good news is that we are coming home for Thanksgiving instead!! So if anyone wants to take a trip out east for the holidays and keep us company at Christmas, you are more than welcome too.

Well better late than never!!
I know that it has been a very long time since I last updated this blog. In fact, I'm not sure anyone is still checking it because of my lack of posts!! Anyway I could come up with a long list of excuses why I've been gone so long, but the only one that will justify anything is because I'm PREGNANT!!! Yeah for me!
I've been pregnant for a while now (17weeks) and let me just tell you it has thrown me for a loop. I never expected to feel so sick and so tired and so unmotivated. BY the time I get home from work each night all I want to do is eat dinner and go to sleep. So that's what I've been doing. Instead of posting I've been sleeping. I'm usually a very social person and enjoy any chance I get for going out and doing things, but the past weeks I haven't felt like going anywhere. I must sayhowever, that I'm starting to get a little more energy here and there and I'm feeling much better. So hopefully I will start to post regularly now and keep you all updated on whats going on with our lives. IF you are reading this, thanks for sticking around during the long dry spell.

New York City
We had a very fun day yesterday going to New York City. We saw a little bit of everything and the weather couldn't have been better. We took a ferry past the Statue of Liberty

Then we ate lunch in Central Park where Greg almost lost $80 to a guy doing a magic trick. A guy was playing the game "under which cap is the little ball?" after he moved it all around with two others without the ball. Greg just stopped by to watch, and after the guy did it, the person who was playing against him picked wrong. Greg was watching, and he knew which cap the ball was under. Just for fun Greg said, "it's under that one," while pointing. The guy tipped back the cap and everyone around saw part of the ball. The guy then said to Greg "You've won." Then he said to Greg, "You've won $80. Show me that you have $80, and I'll give you $80." Greg, thinking that if he just shows this guy $80, then he will give $80 more to Greg. So, he shows the guy that he has $80. The guy then takes it out of Greg's hand before he could react, and said "under which cap is the ball?" Everyone who had watched knew where the ball was, and that Greg had allready picked it correct. Greg pointed at the same cap as before, but this time when he turned the cap over, the ball was gone! And the guy wounldn't give Greg back his money. Greg was stunned because he had no intention of playing. He just thought that because the guy had told him that he'd won $80 if he showed him his $80, that it would get doubled. But everyone around watching knew that somehow the guy had changed the ball while everyone was watching Greg get the money to show that he had it, after he was told by the guy that he'd won. Greg was mad. Everyone around was stunned too. Greg told the guy, "hey, you know I wasn't playing your game. I had my money in my wallet. If I was playing, I would have had it in my hand." The guy still wouldn't give it back, so Greg made a big sceen around him, calling him a cheater and threatening to get a cop to come and get him for cheating people of their money. The guy realized that Greg was ruining his business, so he gave Greg back his $80. Greg learned never to associate with those kind of guys again.
This picture was taken just before all this happened. That's why we look so happy.

On a happier note, we also went to dinner at this amazing Filipino restaurant in Queens. It was so yummy and very cheap. I think that we will for sure be going back there.
This picture is from the last time we went to New York, but while were on the subject I thought I would share anyway. This is a frozen hot chocolate from the famous little store/restaurant Serendipity. Can I just say that it is famous for a reason. It is the BEST THING EVER. It made the list of my top 5 favorite things to eat. We waited 3 hours for it but it was well worth it. If you ever go to New York this is a must have!!!!

Only 5 More Days!
I'm driving myself crazy because I'm so excited to go to Utah and see our family! We are going for 6 weeks. This week has felt like 5. All day at work I just sit and think about all the fun things we get to do while were there (well I guess not all day because I would get in trouble.) We are going to my cabin in Bear Lake, California, camping and me and my roommates from college are staying in park city for a weekend! Mostly I'm just exited to see everyone again though. My sister in law is also going to be having her baby while were there so we'll get to see our newest little niece.
I will however miss our friends here. We have such a great time with the people in our apartment complex. They really feel like family and I couldn't ask for a better place to live.

WELCOME!!
Welcome to my Blog. I've been inspired to start one by so many of my friends who have one. I feel it's a great way to stay in touch and let the people close to you see what you're doing with your life. Since we live far away from our families and friends that we grew up with, I realized that most of them have never even seen where we live. So here are some pictures of our cozy little apartment and also some pictures of some wonderful places we have visited while living in PA. Hope you enjoy!!
