Baby Update/Early Christmas

Well, I went in for my 20 week ultrasound yesterday. Going there I was about 90% sure it was a boy, but it turns out it's a girl!!! We are very excited and so is Brinley. She'll be a wonderful big sister and we're excited for her to have a little playmate for life. Greg's just excited to have more pink in the house.

We decided on a name awhile ago. It's going to be after both of her Grandma's. My Mom's name is Julie and Greg's Mom's middle name is Ann, so we are doing Julianne for her first name and Greg's Mom first name is Carole so we are doing Carole for her middle name. So it's going to be Julianne Carole.

As for everything else the baby is developing right on schedule. She is healthy and moving around all the time. I'm finally feeling better!! Thank heaven, I didn't want to be sick for the holidays. Speaking of holidays, we had an early visit from Santa Clause last night. Brinley and I are leaving on Wednesday for Utah and when you travel far away for Christmas it makes it hard to fit everything in your suitcase. So Santa, being the thoughtful guy he is, left Brinley a few gifts early.

Brinley has been getting into Christmas a lot! Her new favorite movie is Rudolph the red nosed Raindeer. She also loves the song, and the songs Santa is coming to town and Frosty the snowman. Oh and every morning the first thing she says when she wakes up is "go see the Christmas lights." She loves the lights on our tree.

Thanksgiving!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Our good friends, Lis and Bobby came up from DC to join us. All the food was mmm....mmm good!!!! Honestly it was one of the tastiest Thanksgivings I've ever had. Hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving also.

And what would Thanksgiving be without games?

Brinley had a fun time playing with her buddy Oliver.

A much needed Brinley update

This little nugget is about as cute as they come, but she is BUSY with a capital B!! I can't believe all the things she comes up with. She is talking non stop and loves to tell everyone she loves them. It really is the cutest thing when she says "I loves you Mommy." I guess it makes up for all the messes she makes. Oh and she has become a major climber! It scares me to death how fearless she is and also very creative in getting up onto whatever she wants. We LOVE YOU ANYWAY BRINLEY!!

Brinley is also very into animals. Back in Septmember Greg's Mom and Dad came to visit and we got a Zoo pass. Brinley loves going to the Zoo and seeing the animals. She also loves it when Grandma and Papa come for a visit.

October

I must say October was not our finest month. To start it off Greg had a ton of midterms to study for and usually that is code for disaster in our family, the same was true for this month.
At the beginning Brinley and I were gone. My sister in law flew us to Utah to tend her four boys for 2 weeks, while she and her husband went to China. I had 5 kids under the age of 8 all by myself. The older kids had school and kind of just did their own thing so they weren't too bad, but the two who wore me out were Brinley, 18months and Luke who had just turned 1. It was like having twins! Those two were partners in crime! What one didn't think of the other did. I couldn't BELIEVE the messes they would make. They always wanted what the other had or wanted to be doing what the other was doing. That was especially hard when it came time to eat. I got very good at holding one baby on my lap while the other was in the high chair and taking turns feeding them one handed. It was a good thing my Mom and Dad lived close by or I think I would have had a mental break down. I have a whole new respect for people who have twins. I just HOPE that I'm NEVER one of them.

One night while we were in Utah I got to hang out with my family. It was my cousin Mythanne's birthday so we all went out to dinner! It was so fun and Brinley LOVES them.

Brinley also got to carve her first Pumpkin with Grandpa.

And make pumpkin sugar cookies with Grandma.

We got back home and for the first couple days things were normal and good. Greg had to study quite a bit, but nothing we weren't used too. Brinley one morning woke up with a small fever one morning but still acted pretty much the same. I didn't worry so much about it until that night when she kept screaming and wouldn't stop!!! The only way she would sleep was if Greg was holding her. I started feeling sick that night too. By the next morning I felt like I was going to die and Brinley wasn't doing to well either. Greg was kind enough to come home from school at 12 and take care of us, but he still had a lot of tests that he needed to study for. That night was the same as before with Brinley. She would only sleep on Greg and so he didn't get much sleep at all. The next morning my fever was gone, I still didn't feel good, but Brinley's wasn't so I had to take her to the Dr. Meanwhile my awesome father in law was on an airplane to come and save us!!! I LOVE that he flies for free.
It turned out that Brinley had her first ear infection and they put her on an antibiotic. That night Greg's Dad got in to help us out for the next few days. He was so wonderful!! He cleaned, made dinners, did laundry and played with Brinley non stop all day.
Brinley dramatically improved, but I still couldn't get better. I finally went to the Dr. and it turned out I had another sinus infection. That is the third time this year!!! They put me on medicine and after a few days I was feeling much better.
Mike left and Greg finished his midterms, but the next day Brinley woke up with a rash ALL over her body from head to toe. She didn't have a fever and wasn't acting sick but I called her Dr. and it turns out she had an allergic reaction the the amoxicilin they gave her. Pour thing!! At least she wasn't bothered by the rash at all. She just kept lifting up her shirt and looking at her tummy and saying "rash" "rash."

You can kind of see what she looked like in this picture, but she wouldn't hold still.

Grandma and Grandpa come to visit!

I know this was almost 2 months ago, but better late than never right? My Mom and Dad came to visit in September right when I started to feel aweful. We went to Boston for a fun weekend, then they stayed the rest of the week and helped out with Brinley. It was so nice having them come. Brinley LOVED it because she went on a fun outing all by herself with Grandma and Grandpa each day. I wish I could have gone too, but it was nice being able to stay home and rest in a quiet house.

Of course while we were in Boston we had to go visit Fenway Park for Greg. While we were there, you'll never guess who we ran in to......

Yes that is Ben Affleck.
I was too scared to ask for a picture, but Greg wasn't. He was very nice to take a picture with them.

Brinley went to Atlantic city with my Mom and Dad. It was her first time seeing the ocean.

Happy Halloween

I have much more that I need to blog about, but I wanted to get these Halloween pictures up now so the Grandparents could see them. We had a great time trick-or-treating with Brinley!!! Greg got VERY into it and we ended up going out for about 2 1/2 hours!!! For a little 1 year old that is a long time, but she enjoyed every second. She was the cutest little Nemo ever.

Because one is so much fun..........

we decided to make it two!!! Yep, we're having Baby #2. I'm due the 24Th of April. We're so excited, but hate the being sick part. I'll apologize for the lack of posts in advanced, because there will probably not be many for the next few weeks.
