Family Pics with a Baby

Well, I guess going and having family pictures taken will never be the same again. Brinley was so smiley all day but when it was time to take pictures we could not get her to look at the camera or smile! We tried everything. Luckily when your photographer is your Dad, he'll take as many as needed. Here are some examples.

Exhibit A
Exhibit B: We try making her took at the camera by snapping at her

Exhibit C: Then we try moving positions. Still no go.
Exhibit D: Getting Closer
Exhibit E: We got one! And when I say one I mean ONE. Out of about 300 pictures one turned out with her smiling and looking at the camera.

The crew that made it all possible. Thanks Jared and Mom, and Dad for taking so many pictures of us!

We're still here

I promised myself that even though we are in Utah for the summer, I would still keep up blogging, well as you can tell that has not happened so much! I can't believe how busy we have been. I feel like all we do is go from one place to the next, lugging around all our stuff as we go along. I remember doing that a lot last summer as well, but this time we have baby so it makes it so much more complicated!! Anyway, we are loving spending time with our families. It's so much fun watching Brinley meet all her relatives. I really couldn't have asked for a better child. She is so good for being lugged around from place to place. She is getting soooo BIG.
We just got back from St. George last week with Greg's family. It was so much fun! Brinley got to have her first swimming pool experience. She looked darling in her little swimming suit. I'll post pictures later of the trip when I figure out how to download them on to my dads computer. Well got to run. Here are a few pictures of Brinley meeting some family.

My First Mothers Day

My first Mothers Day was amazing! I was spoiled to pieces. I honestly didn't just have a "mothers day" it was more like a Mothers week! Greg did such a wonderful job to make me feel special. I got taken to lunch twice, went shopping, got my first pedicure and got to take my first nap in a long time!!

Greg made me a wonderful Mothers Day dinner.

Being a Mom is definitely the hardest work I have done and ever will do, but it has also been the most fulfilling. Since having Brinley I feel like a better person in every way. I love being with her all day. She brings joy to me through the smallest things. I mean who wouldn't want to wake up to this little face each morning?

Brinley is so happy in the morning! It's my favorite time of day with. Her little personality is starting to show and I just love watching it develop. Being a Mom is the best!!

Go Yankee's and Redsox?

Not many people get to go to a Yankee's game at Yankee stadium and a Redsox game at Fenway in the same weekend. And in most cases, not many people would want to right? In the world of sports there are rules, or so I thought. You can't cheer for both the Utes and the Cougars and you can't cheer for both the Redsox and the Yankee's? You bleed either blue or red, not purple. Well, I thought that until I married Greg. You see he is the biggest sports fan I know, but an odd one. He loves the Redsox. There are few who know more about them than he does, but yet their one true rival, the Yankee's, he will still cheer for unless they play the Redsox. Fareweather you may think, but really quite the contrary. You see in Greg's world the REAL world series in the playoffs is the Redsox Yankees rivalry. So he will root for the Yankees as long as it is not to the detriment of the Redsox and will help them make it to the point where both teams play each other.

Well anyway, we had a wonderful weekend with Greg's parents on our Boston trip. As mentioned, Greg and his dad got to go to a ballgame. I have never in my life seen Greg so excited!! Even though it rained and was freezing cold he loved every second of Fenway. He called me at least 3 times to tell me how wonderful it was. He and his dad were kids in a candy store. They both couldn't wait to come back to the hotel and tells us about every detail. However, because of the rain the game was delayed and I was already asleep when he got home, so when Brinley got up at 4:30 to eat he got up too and told me all about it! It was so fun to see both of them so happy and in their element. Greg's Dad even told us that he wanted to be buried in his new Redsox hat. I must say I had a great time myself with Greg's mom and Brinley. She took the baby and I got to take a nice long hot bath! Grandparents are the best!!!

And we also squeezed in some historical sites as well. We didn't have our camera for most of it, but here are some of the things we saw.

Just for the record our little Brinley was an angel and traveled so well!! We got so lucky! She slept most of the ride there and back.

Fun times with Mary and Holly!

This past week was such a blast. My good friends from Utah came to visit! We had a wonderful time. We went shopping, went to the temple, visited the sites at DC and just hung out. Little Brinley loved her Auntie Holly and Auntie Mary!
